Gift Guide for the Sourdough Baker

Whether you want to get into making sourdough yourself or know someone who does, these are some awesome tools to help get started!

Bread Proofing Baskets - The traditional way to proof your dough before baking! You can also get away with using a metal mixing bowl like this one!

Metal Dough Hook - This is one thing that I think is a must! I love this one because it has a metal handle which means it can go in the dishwasher unlike traditional wooden handled dough hooks! I’ve used this exact one for years & it’s still going strong!

Flour Duster - Right before scoring your bread, many people dust it with flour to give it that pretty look after baking and keeping it from getting too brown. This duster is perfect & I keep one filled with flour for sourdough and the other powdered sugar for dusting sweets!

Bread Knife - The best bread knife! So sharp & works like a dream!

Parchment Paper Sheets - No more curled up parchment paper from the roll. These sheets are precut to fit a sheet pan, but are also the perfect size to bake your sourdough on! I use one sheet to bake four loaves of bread, so this box will last you a while!

Lodge 6qt Enameled Dutch Oven - I’ve used this one for over five years & it’s still being used several times a week in our house! It’s perfect for baking sourdough, but also makes a great pot for your family’s favorite soup or chili!

Tea Towels - I love these light towels to put over my dough as it’s proofing

Bread Lame - This is how you make those pretty designs on your bread! This one comes with a leather blade cover, extra blades & a plastic case.
