My husband eats a bowl of yogurt with granola every single morning. I used to buy granola in bulk from our grocery store & thought nothing of it. Then one time we ran out and I wasn’t planning on going to the store for over a week, so I figured it couldn’t be too hard and made it from scratch! My husband then told me it was better than what I had been buying, so I’ve been making it every since!.

This is a simple granola recipe, but you can add any nuts or dried fruits that you want!

You start by mixing together quick oats, brown sugar, salt & cinnamon. This is when you can add any additional nuts, seeds, or dried fruit that you want!

Then in a glass measuring cup or microwave safe bowl, add your oil & honey. Microwave it for 30 seconds & then add your vanilla.

Pour it into your oat mixture and stir until it’s all coated.

Then spread it all on a sheet pan lined with parchment or a silicone baking sheet liner. Bake at 325ºF for 15 minutes. Then stir it and bake for another 10 minutes.

Let it cool completely on the pan, then break it up and store it in an airtight container! We go through so much that I usually double it and make two pans worth. We love it on yogurt or just snacking by the handful.

This easy and simple granola recipe will win you over! Never buy store bought granola again!

Ingredients

  • 3c Quick Oats
  • 1/4c Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp course salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/3c oil(canola, vegetable, or coconut)
  • 1/3c Honey
  • 2 Tbl Vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325º.
  2. Mix together oats, brown sugar, salt & cinnamon.
  3. In a microwave safe bowl, add the oil & honey & microwave for 30 seconds. If using coconut oil, make sure it is completely melted, add more time if needed.
  4. Add vanilla to oil & honey, then pour over oats.
  5. Mix together thoroughly.
  6. Spread evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking sheet liner.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes.
  8. Stir, then bake for 10 more minutes.
  9. Remove from oven & let cool completely before breaking up and storing in an airtight container.
